Gift of Fitness Challenge Check-In: Week 4

So how are you doing after three full weeks?  Are you feeling motivated?  What have your non-scale victories (NSVs) been?  What are your challenges to staying on track?

I'm SO impressed with how you're encouraging one another on the blog and Facebook.  My friends, you are the best!  Believe in yourself and your own abilities every bit as much as you encourage one another!

Dream.
Believe.
Work hard.
Achieve!

ugh, I've lost 1 lb so far. Not doing very good. But I just found a new exercise partner, we walked about 3 miles (mostly uphill) last night. Hoping this helps motivate me!

I am not sure how much I have lost as I have not weighed myself yet this week... more denial than anything. My NSV include starting to swim again, which also means I have been going to the gym more :) yay! The dog gets walked pretty much every other day. She gets crazy if we don't walk. I use imapmyrun so I know we walk usually around 3.0 sometimes faster. We go for a minimum of 3 miles per walk, enough to tire the dog out for a few minutes. She is the best motivator plus when I know I am going to walk her I plan my day around it... dinner in the crockpot or set the dvr so I can watch my shows later but always have to get that walk in. Stress has been killing me lately. On days when it is really bad all I want to do is stop and get dinner on the way home ( nothing healthy of course) but the combination of the cost and lack of health benefits always stop me ... thank goodness. I keep asking myself why I am trying to sabotage what I have been working so hard on... when I find an answer I will let everyone know lol. TTFN

I have never liked running, but several weeks ago I decided to start a C25K program to focus on working out while traveling for a year. One NSV is that I've changed my thinking from "I don't want them to see me running" to "I can't stop running while they are in my sight."

Another bonus NSV was when my friend contacted me unexpectedly yesterday for my measurements for my bridesmaid dress. The beginning of Oct I took the measurements (with my eyes closed ;)for the HLGFitGift challenge. If I hadn't I wouldn't have known that I've lost inches the past few weeks. That was exciting because the scale ebbs and flows.
